After ‘Gadar 2’ success, Sunny Deol to be back with Border 2.

After the blockbuster success of ‘Gadar 2’, speculation is rife about the revival of another Sunny Deol classic, ‘Border’. Reports suggest that the team is set to make an official announcement about ‘Border 2’ soon.

Just like ‘Gadar’, ‘Gadar 2’ has turned out to be a blockbuster. The film, which released on August 11, has already collected Rs 300 crore in eight days. Now, with the super success of ‘Gadar 2’, it looks like makers are keen to revive the 1997 film, ‘Border’, and bring out ‘Border 2’.

Several reports are doing the rounds that, after the success of ‘Gadar 2’, JP Dutta is planning to bring ‘Border 2’ on screens. The film will have Sunny Deol along with an ensemble cast of young stars. Dutta, who helmed ‘Border’, will reportedly be producing the second part.

A report in Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “The team has been discussing the probability of making a Border sequel for the last 2 to 3 years and everything has now finally fallen into place as the team is all set to make an official announcement about Border 2 in a fortnight. The team has identified a tale from the 1971 Indo-Pak war that is not yet told on the big screen and are all charged up to bring it to the spectacle.”

“Being a heavy-on action film, the team will be casting actors from the younger generation rather than bringing together the entire troop of ‘Border’. Sunny Deol will probably be the only actor from ‘Border’ who will be a part of ‘Border 2’ as well. It’s all in the early stages at the moment and more updates will come our way once the film is officially announced very soon,” the source further told the portal.

‘Border’ released in 1997 and had an ensemble cast consisting of Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Pooja Bhatt, Tabu, Sharbani Mukherjee along with senior stars like Raakhee, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Puneet Issar. It was one of the biggest blockbusters in the decade.
