Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ vs Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2: Who’s winning in advance booking race?

Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Oh My God 2’ and Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ will clash in theatres on August 11. Here’s a look at their advance booking figures.

Bollywood will witness another big clash at the box office on August 11. Sunny Deol-starrer ‘Gadar 2’ and Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Oh My God 2’ are going to be released on the same day. While ‘Gadar 2’ is directed by Anil Sharma, ‘OMG 2’ has been helmed by Amit Rai. The advance bookings for both the films have now started. Let’s take a look at how many tickets both films have sold, and how much money they have minted till now.


With Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel joining forces once again, our expectations are high for an entertaining cinematic experience. On the other hand, we can’t wait to see Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva in ‘Oh My God 2’. The trailer has already taken our breaths away. The advance booking for both the films have started now.

According to Sacnilk reports, till now, ‘Gadar 2’ has sold 56,000 tickets. With this, they earned Rs 1.47 crore. It definitely seems like a good start.

On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Oh My God 2’ has sold about 7,300 tickets till now. They have made a total of Rs 25 lakh till now.


The film, directed by Amit Rai, features Akshay Kumar in the avatar of Lord Shiva. ‘OMG 2’ will also feature Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi and Arun Govil of Ramayan fame. It will be released in theatres on August 11. The satirical comedy-drama is a sequel to the 2012 hit film ‘OMG- Oh My God!’ The film is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah and Rajesh Bahl. Dr Chandraprakash Diwedi is the creative producer of the movie. The cinematography of the movie is done by Amalendu Chaudhary.

The recently unveiled trailer of ‘Gadar 2’ shows Tara Singh as he ventures across the border in a daring attempt to rescue his son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been captured in Pakistan. Set in Lahore during the year 1971, ‘Gadar 2’ promises to deliver on its predecessor’s captivating action sequences while depicting Tara Singh’s relentless anger towards those instigating hatred between India and Pakistan.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 is scheduled to release on August 11, and interestingly, it will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’.
